Quickee news #1

I thought I'd give the Daily Doodle it's own page, so as from today it'll be posted there. The first is up there now, so have a look if you like and let me know what you think...

Lotsa News and Stuff!

I've been criminally neglecting the Poverty Press blog for the last few months, but rest assured there's a hell of a lot going on behind the scenes!

First up is the news that Poverty Press in now co-publishing Fred Fortune's misadventures with Abbot Comics in the US. Abbot will primarily focus on getting Fred's books on sale via all the various digital platforms and spreading the word, while Poverty will continue to work on producing the work itself and bringing Fred to you via Print On Demand.

To that end you can now get your digital copies of Fred Fortune from several distributors. There are three on sale so far- Issues 0 and 1 of 'The Incredibly Stupid Misadventures of Fred Fortune and his chums!!' and #1 of 'Fred Fortune: Gold' which reprints all the old stuff from the 1990s. You can find them here:
here:

And here:

Of course, if you still like your comics printed traditionally you can still get issue zero on IndyPlanet for $4.50 here:

We're working on getting the rest available as printed comics ASAP. And #0 is also available digitally here:

Also, yours truly has been busy posting stuff, in my capacity as co-editor, on the Mondo Facebook page. Mostly the Daily Doodle- a new piece of (mostly) comic art posted every day... I thought it'd be fun to share it here too and maybe on my DeviantArt page too at some point. No point in starting right back at the beginning, so here's today's Daily Doodle...
It never rains, but it poors! This was done in marker pens in the mid 90s. It's a section of a larger illustration that I've cropped to focus on the figure and the atmosphere. As you can see we're up to Doodle#148, but if you'd like to have a look at the earlier ones pop along to the Mondo Facebook page here:

Just enough time to tell you all about another new Poverty Press title out now... It's a small Manga sized one shot in 40 full colour pages about an obnoxious space hero called Ray Gunn. It's the first of a line that we've called Mondo-Minis, a series of small pocket size comics that'll mostly contain old Mondo stuff, only now in colour. The Ray Gunn strip will be posted as part of the Daily Doodles in the near future, and lots of design work and characters have already been presented as Doodles. If you can't wait until it appears or want to read it without the Doodle branding you can buy the POD version for $4.99 here:
or a digital CBZ copy at the knockdown sale price of 50 cents here:
Here's the Ray Gunn blurb...

With his first blockbuster movie under his belt, Ray and his colleagues embark on an mission that will be made into a TV show, to save the citizens of the paradise planet Signus 4 from a murderous insectoid alien monster on a rampage!!

That's about it for today... I aim to keep up to date with the blog a lot more in the future, so I'll be back tomorrow with another Doodle. See ya then...
